Who am I?
I am committed passionately towards the coaching of women, helping to achieve the optimum results of their chosen goal.
I’ve almost always had a very active life, interested in all sports from school and beyond, enjoying the freedom and feeling that exercise gives.
Soon after leaving The British Army of 4 years I received news of a devastating family incident that left my husband with a life changing disability. I grasped life with vigour for a few years ‘The Good Life’ or so I thought at the time. Not really exercising at all and with my love of food, it caught up with me. Inevitably without really noticing I had gained weight, a considerable amount for me at 3 stone above what I classed as ideal. I wanted to feel good about myself but just didn’t have the motivation to; I started to feel down not being able to enjoy shopping for clothes and finding anything that looked good on, not feeling great about going out and socialising, preferring to stay in with food and wine.
Eventually we started a family which seemed to kick start me into revisiting my love of exercise in particular running; it gave me the freedom to work hard and still enjoy my love if food.
After the birth of my first child I had lost all my baby weight and more, 2 more children later and continuing with my true love of exercise. I am now happy with who I am. I still continue to eat the foods I Love but will never let anything stop me from exercising again.
My journey of becoming a Personal Trainer has always been with me, from a very young age. I had aspirations to work in the industry but as a very shy red headed teenager, lacking with confidence I could not bring myself to pursue.
This brings me to recent events. I took the plunge and decided to challenge myself after the birth of number 2 and took on the Epic challenge of rowing from London to Paris in support of charity, what followed was finally baby number 3, where again I decided to challenge myself and run the London Marathon. I asked ladies in the local village we had just moved to, if anyone would like to join me. To my astonishment I had a huge amount of interest. This spurred me on to undertaking a course held by UK Athletics to get more women into running. Something I would never have had the courage to do in my younger years.
3 years later and ‘Fradley Ladies Running Club’ is doing great, it’s a non profit club that I am very proud of. It was seeing these women achieve what they initially thought was impossible and the feedback I got which gave me the confidence to pursue my earlier dream of Personal Training.
‘Fradley fit for Women’ was born. I have great admiration with anyone who wants’ to achieve anything in life but particularly women who want to feel the benefits of a healthier lifestyle and getting the balance right with family, work, life commitments, food and exercise.
My passion is to help women lose weight and/or get fit and most importantly enjoy the process.
I am a fully qualified and insured level 3 Personal Trainer, REPs member, Advanced Coaching Academy Member, Run England Leader and founder of the successful non-profit Fradley Ladies Running Club.
I am also currently studying the Applied Nutrition and Supplementation Certification which is certified by the AfN Association For Nutrition it’s one of only a few AfN certified courses in the leisure industry.
